APOLLO (God of prophecy, music.)

 

Apollo is a well-known figure in Greek mythology, considered to be one of the greatest gods of ancient Greece. He was the god of prophecy, music, poetry, and archery, and was known for his incredible physical and intellectual abilities. One of the most well-known myths about Apollo is his victory over the giant serpent Python, which had been terrorizing the people of Delphi. Apollo managed to slay the serpent with his bow and arrow, and thereafter he became the patron god of Delphi and the oracle located there.

There, he was worshiped as the god of light and the sun, and his temple was considered to be one of the most important religious sites in the ancient world. In addition to his many other talents, Apollo was also known for his musical abilities. He was said to have invented the lyre, a stringed instrument that was used in religious and secular music alike. In fact, many of the most famous musicians and poets of ancient Greece were said to have been inspired by Apollo and his music.
